Evening Tuna Fishing – Flipper II

Tuna of one species or another can be found on the Island of Madeira all year round.  We expect to see Blue fin here in the Spring and Autumn.  Big Eye Tuna can be caught throughout the year.  We also see Yellowfin Tuna and Albacore along with Skip Jacks.

Tuna can be caught at anytime but the best time to capture one of these fish is dusk or dawn as they come to the surface to feed on the bait which also feed high up in the water at these times.

To see these huge fish busting the water is really is a sight to be seen.

The fish you see to the left is a magnificent 434lb Big Eye caught on a September evening.  The average size for a Big Eye here is between 150 – 300lb.  This monster would have broken the world record had we claimed but it goes to show just about anything can happen here in Madeira.  We call it Jurassic Park because we are forever getting the next  dinosaur of  the sea.

Two experienced skippers are on board to help you out with everything.

What to expect on the day.

You can expect to be greeted by British captain and crew.  From there you will taken to the boat for a full safety briefing.  We will explain the methods of fishing we will be using on the day. As we will be trolling we will make sure that the fighting chair is adjusted for the angler who is first to take a strike and if you  want to fight stand up we will ensure the belt is set ready for you.

Your comfort and safety is paramount importance so  we ensure you are happy and answer any of your questions before we  leave the marina.

From then on its fun all the way and hopefully we will be returning with lots of fishy stories.

You may take any fish that you want to eat.  Any extra fish will be donated to local people in need.

No Catch is Permitted to be Sold for Profit.
