We had the pleasure of the company of a fantastic angler Andre who is enjoying a holiday here on Madeira Island.  He booked a Wahoo Fishing Trip with us last week and although we had a big hit from a Wahoo unfortunately it shook the hook and we lost it.  Despite that we had a fantastic time together on the boat and Andre came back today to try again.  His main aim this holiday was to catch a tuna of any variety as this was on his list of fish to tick off.  Being Wahoo season we set the lures out to give him the best chance at either a Wahoo or a Tuna.   He also wanted to catch dinner so we started with a quick 45 minutes of bait fishing and we got a few small fish on board, snapper and bream and he to his amusement even got a small puffer fish.  That done it was time to get the real gear out and do some trolling.  We battled with some strong winds for the first hour or so then the sea started to calm down and the lures ran much better.  It was encouraging to see lots of bait fish still in the water and also the sheerwaters have returned.  A good sign of fish activity.

We were chatting away as you do about all sorts of fishing and one rod bent over.  It took slow at first then took line at speed.  We had not seen the bite and was not sure what we had on but we were hoping for a Wahoo.  Whilst I passed the rod over to Andre a second rod also bent over and we had 2 fish on.  All other lines were brought in and although we lost the fish from the second bite Andre got a nice Bonito.  We dont always get what we want with fishing but our angler was very pleased to be taking dinner home tonight.  Thank you Andre for your great company and we will see you again soon for a bigger fish.
